General Description
Under the direction of the Director, Programs and Initiatives, the Safety on Tour Ambassador serves as the primary frontline ambassador for the Safety on Tour program. Safety on Tour extends BCCSA’s reach across BC by providing interactive, practical safety demonstrations in a mobile enclosed trailer unit. This role requires a unique balance of technical driving proficiency, strong health and safety expertise, excellent presentation skills, and administrative capability (including solid computer and smart device literacy). When not actively traveling or delivering on-site demonstrations, the Presenter takes a proactive role within the Programs & Initiatives department assisting and coordinating scheduling, engaging regional stakeholders, maintaining equipment and vehicle(s), and supporting departmental initiatives without relying on passive assignment.
DIRECT DUTIES
The following represent the direct duties of the Safety on Tour Ambassador:
• Deliver live, interactive safety awareness demonstrations (e.g., impact forces, cut resistance, proper lifting mechanics, fall arrest) at job sites, trade shows, schools, and community venues across BC.
• Act as an active champion for the Safety on Tour program and wider BCCSA services, proactively reaching out to regional employers, industry leaders, and educators to generate interest and book events.
• Collaborate closely with BCCSA’s Regional Safety Advisors (RSAs) to coordinate worksite safety discussions, toolbox talks, and joint outreach activities.
• Gather participant feedback and observational data to inform ongoing program improvements and report key metrics to the Director, Programs and Initiatives.
