Opening & Filling in BCCSA Forms

BCCSA

  • 1.I'm having trouble opening or filling in BCCSA forms.

The BCCSA website offers various PDF forms and documents, some of which feature interactive elements. However, for security considerations, modern PDF viewers might block these interactive PDFs by default as they can potentially be used to deliver harmful content. To ensure consistent access to and interaction with these PDFs, we recommend using a dedicated PDF viewer like Adobe Reader version 11 or higher, which can be downloaded here for free. After installing Adobe Reader, save the file to your computer and then open it using Adobe Reader.

  • 2.How do I save the file to my computer?
    • Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox: Right click the link and select "Save Link As". Follow the prompts to save the PDF to your computer, remember where you saved it. Open Adobe Reader, then click “file” then “open” and search for your downloaded BCCSA document or form.
    • Apple Safari: On your keyboard press control+click or click and hold the mouse button down on the link until the menu pops up. Select the item from the menu that indicates it will "save" or "download" the file to the disk. Select the file type before you click OK (the file type should be PDF or source, depending on your browser). Open Adobe Reader, then click “file” then “open” and search for your downloaded BCCSA document or form. Do not double click to open the file as it will open in the default preview screen and we will not be able to read your form.
    • Internet Explorer: *Please note that Internet Explorer has been largely deprecated by Microsoft, and it's no longer a recommended or secure web browser. Right click the link and select "Save Target As". Follow the prompts to save the PDF to your computer, remember where you saved it. Open Adobe Reader, then click “file” then “open” and search for your downloaded BCCSA form.
  • 3.How do I open the file in my web browser?

The Acrobat/Acrobat Reader plug-in for web browsers has historically relied on the cross-platform plug-in architecture NPAPI, which enjoyed support from all major web browsers for over a decade. However, it's important to note that NPAPI support has been discontinued in certain web browsers, leading to the incompatibility of the Acrobat/Acrobat Reader plug-in for displaying PDFs. As of now, the following web browsers no longer support NPAPI and, as a result, the Acrobat/Acrobat Reader plug-in will not function on these browsers for PDF display:

    • Google Chrome (since the September 2015 release)
    • Microsoft Edge
    • Mozilla Firefox (versions 52 and above)
    • Apple Safari (versions 12 and above)

Internet Explorer: *Please note that Internet Explorer has been largely deprecated by Microsoft, and it's no longer a recommended or secure web browser. Once Adobe Reader is installed, you will be able to view the PDF. Simply click on the PDF to open it.
