The BCCSA Bursary is now open and accepting applications for 2026!

Overview

The BC Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA) is proud to offer bursaries to support individuals pursuing a post-secondary education certificate, diploma or degree in construction safety, occupational health and safety (OHS), or related fields, who want to build a safety career in BC’s construction industry.

Whether you're just starting out, changing careers, or looking to upskill, a BCCSA bursary is designed to reduce the financial burden of pursuing the education needed to succeed in construction safety.

These bursaries are open to a wide range of applicants, including:

  • High school graduates or post-secondary students entering post-secondary safety programs.
  • Current construction workers and employees interested in transitioning into safety roles.
  • Existing construction safety professionals seeking to advance their education

Multiple bursaries are available and typically range from $1,000 to $2,500. Priority is given to those with financial need, construction industry experience, and a demonstrated desire to pursue a career in construction safety.

Successful applicants will receive financial assistance that can be applied toward tuition, course materials, and other education-related expenses.

This bursary program is part of BCCSA’s ongoing efforts to improve safety across BC’s construction industry and support a stronger, more safety-conscious workforce across the province.

Bursary Conditions
  • Application period May 01, 2026, until July 31, 2026. Successful candidates will be contacted directly by BCCSA by September 15, 2026.
  • BCCSA Bursaries are for Canadian citizens or permanent residents currently living in British Columbia and who reside in British Columbia during their education.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to a certificate, diploma or degree program for construction safety, Health and Safety, or a related field at a recognized BC or Canadian post-secondary institution. The program should ideally equip the student to meet the educational requirements for the Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST®) or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP®) certification.
  • The education program can be full-time, part-time, or self-paced, and can be delivered in-person or online/virtual, as long as the bursary recipient resides in British Columbia during their education. For clarity, the recipient may attend an online/virtual program offered by a school outside BC if they live in BC while enrolled in the program.
